Many stalls and activities
The fifth edition of Festi’Terroir will once again offer the chance to meet the people behind sustainable agriculture and food in the Geneva region. With tastings, food stands and market stalls showing seasonal fruit and veg, bread, cheese, cold cuts, local herbs, all kinds of plants and drinks for young and old alike, the choice of local products will be huge.
Numerous associations and institutions in the field of sustainable food and agriculture will also be on hand to talk about their work, organizing workshops and activities so that visitors can learn more while having fun. Concerts organized by the independent Geneva music label, Cheptel Records, will set the tempo in the park throughout the weekend. In “aperitif” mode on Friday evening, visitors are invited to meet the local winemakers and brewers, enjoy a craft lemonade or a kefir or taste local fruit to the backdrop of a semi-acoustic concert.
Promotion of regional agriculture
This year, Festi’Terroir has inaugurated a sustainable food charter developed specifically for the event. It asks the catering stands to prepare dishes using (almost) only seasonal products from the Geneva area. The drinks on offer must be “home-made”.
Festi’Terroir is also the opportunity to discover a more responsible means of consuming through the diversity of local agricultural production and the promotion of short circuits. “The City of Geneva undertakes to promote local production every day. Festi’Terroir is an amazing showcase for the local value chains and a convivial event allowing visitors to discover the diversity and quality of the products from our region,” explains Mayor Alfonso Gomez.
Festi’Terroir is an event that meets several goals of the City of Geneva’s climate strategy. Discover all the measures of this strategy at: www.geneve.ch/strategie-climat
Festi’Terroir 2023 is jointly organized by the City of Geneva, Genève Terroir and Bio Genève with the support of Bio Suisse and in partnership with the SIG and Radio Lac.
