    Let’s stay dynamic: an activity rewarded by the Radix Foundation | City of Geneva

    Every three years, the Radix Foundation awards a price which rewards municipalities and cities for their actions in favor of the health promotion. This distinction aims to promote good practices and to encourage the development of projects in the field of prevention and health promotion.

    For the fifth edition of the Radix Prize, 32 Swiss municipalities and towns applied for numerous projects. After an examination of the files by the regional juries, 11 contributions were nominated. The national jury then had the difficult task of selecting three winners.

    The City of Geneva has been selected and receives the prize “Healthy municipality – healthy city” for the first time, with its project “Let’s stay dynamic” (move between seniors)!

    A social commitment to health

    A healthy city must involve and support its inhabitants by responding to their concerns and their needs. This is one of the main objectives of the policy implemented by the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity.

    Let’s stay dynamic – move between seniors

    “Let’s stay dynamic” (move between seniors) is a service offered by the Social service. Marches open to all take place three times a week in various parks in the City of Geneva. These sessions allow engage in physical activity close to home, in joy and good humor. The sessions last one hour and are supervised by health professionals from the Social Service as well as sports coaches.

    This free service has met with great success and testifies to the interest of seniors in staying active and in good health.
