    The Ceremony of Remembrance pays tribute to the deceased at Saint-Georges | City of Geneva

    This moment of contemplation is in particular dedicated to the families who lost a loved one between 1 September 2022 and 30 September 2023. And, more broadly speaking, to anyone who wishes to pay tribute to someone who has died. Prior registration is required before 1 November.

    In order to offer a little warmth and comfort to all those who have lost a loved one, the Undertakers, Cemeteries and Crematorium Serviceis organizing a remembrance ceremony at the Saint-Georges Funeral Center, at 4.30 pm on Saturday 4 November 2023.

    The families of the deceased who have already been assisted by the City’s Undertakers, Cemeteries and Crematorium Service, between 1 September 2022 and 30 September 2023, have been invited to the ceremony by letter. Tea Ceremony of Remembrance is open to anyone who wants to pay their respects to someone they have lost.

    People wishing to participate in the Ceremony of Remembrance are requested to register by 1 November by phone on 022 418 60 25 or by e-mail to ceremonie-souvenir@ville-ge.ch.

    Organized in partnership with the Association of French-speaking celebrants and officiants (ACOR)the love of this collective remembrance service is to give people the opportunity to say their final farewells to the deceased, pay their respects and find inspiration to move on.
    Following a word of welcome from Executive Advisor Christina Kitsostea non-denominational celebration will be held with the tributes to the deceased accompanied by music.
    The ceremony will be concluded by a processionled by a hearseto the Garden of Remembrance in the Saint-Georges cemetery. At the end of the remembrance ceremonythe participants will be invited to share a “glass of friendship”.
