Charlotte Hodes and Nicolas Muller at the Ariana Museum | City of Geneva

Alongside its mission of preserving historical heritage, the Ariana Museum is developing its links with the current art scene like these two new exhibitions.

    Nicolas Muller: By force

The preservation of collections is one of the main missions of the Ariana Museum. Captivated by the notions of conservation, Nicolas Muller (France/Switzerland, 1983) collected discreet and fragile traces left by pieces from the collections stored in reserves.

His projects reveal hollow images, tiny and ephemeral prints which reveal the action of time on materials.

By force from November 3 to September 22, 2024 – Lower ground floor

    Charlotte Hodes: Outdoor Conversations

Charlotte Hodes (UK, 1959), exhibited internationally, presents work that merges a fine arts practice with applied arts. With his exhibition “Conversation en plein air”, the artist invites you to a joyful, colorful and poetic picnic.

A contemporary version of Watteau’s “Fêtes galantes” or Manet’s “Déjeuner sur l’herbe”. The presence of masks and the distance between the characters are reminders of the pandemic which has brutally transformed our social relationships. Fortunately, the party takes place in the open air…

Outdoor Conversations from November 3 to May 5, 2024 – Contemporary Creation Space
