    Books, early childhood and families, 2022 edition | City of Geneva

    It’s never too early to discover the captivating world of books and images! With the participation of authors, illustrators and librarians, this event dedicated to books offers, for a whole week, a festival of fun and creative activities for children attending daycare centers in the City of Geneva and for families. The days of Wednesday June 8, Saturday June 11 and Sunday June 12, 2022 are open to everyone.

    The event is organized by the Early childhood servicein collaboration with the Municipal libraries, there House of CreativityTHE Cultural integration center of the Geneva Red Cross, and three Geneva bookstores To the Blue dog, Boulevard Bookstore And Freedom.

    Wednesday June 8

    At the House of Creativity: Espace Alphabelle

    Young audiences are invited to play with letters and words using their imagination, alone or with the help of older children.

    At the Cultural Integration Center of the Geneva Red Cross: “Tell me about the world”

    20-minute activities, in the form of readings, songs and multilingual nursery rhymes, are offered by the library’s storytellers. In addition, an exhibition of books in 80 languages.

    Saturday June 11

    At the City Library

    Under the leadership of Magali Attiogbé, and Marie-Noëlle Horvath, authors and illustrators, children, from 2-3 years, are invited to participate in creative activities lasting one hour.

    In the afternoon, a show of 30-minute puppets is inspired by the four candidate albums for P’tits Mômes Prize, awarded by a jury ofchildren aged 2 to 4 years old, in collaboration with the Early Childhood Service.

    Sunday June 12 – At the Children’s Building

    In the magnificent setting of the Built for children, nature rhymes with culture. From 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., a variety of activities await children and families.

    There Mobitheque of the Municipal Libraries makes its books available to young audiences.

    Meeting and workshop around the book “Une nuit au Jardin” with the author and illustrator Anne Crausaz during which each child (from 4 years old) will be able to make a mini book.

    With l’Association “From thread to stories”, nursery rhymes and finger games for children up to 2 years old.

    Surprise guaranteed with traveling kamishibais, Japanese plays created by children from the City’s nurseries.
