    Welcoming families during the work

    For ceremonies attracting a large number of people, an agreement has been concluded with the New Apostolic Church of Geneva, located at 14 rue Liotard, which can accommodate up to 310 people.

    A major renovation

    Built between 1973 and 1976, the Saint-Georges Funeral Center is in a significantly dilapidated state and requires in-depth sanitation.

    The work, which should last approximately two years, includes:

    • the redevelopment of mortuary rooms in order to offer families 24-hour access and a more conducive setting for contemplation, with an artistic intervention financed by the FMAC (Municipal Contemporary Art Fund);
    • improving the acoustics of the chapels, as well as managing the flow of people participating in the various ceremonies by creating new access to the outside in the two ceremony rooms;
    • the redevelopment of the main entrances with new access, including the installation of an elevator for people with reduced mobility;
    • in order to respond to current challenges, the renewal of heating, ventilation and air conditioning installations, now obsolete, as well as sanitary and electrical equipment;
    • the redevelopment and modernization of work spaces, in order to provide secure and comfortable working conditions for employed staff.
