    FIFDH 2024: a rich and innovative 22nd edition | City of Geneva

    Each year, in parallel with the main session of the UN Human Rights Council, the festival broadcasts films and offers debates that highlight struggles and denounce violations wherever they occur. During this 22nd edition, you will be able to find 41 films, 24 forums, 23 events, 3 events aimed at young audiences, signing sessions as well as an exhibition giving a voice to refugees from several countries.

    Support for human rights

    Geneva, seat of many international organizations, places the defense of human rights among its fundamental values. The city supports numerous projects promoting human rights and protecting their defenders, committed to peace, democracy, justice and the environment, both in Switzerland and abroad. The FIFDH is one of them.

    Renewal of the agreement

    The City of Geneva has renewed the agreement which binds it to the festival for the period 2024-2027. The Department of Finance, Environment and Housing, via the Geneva Solidarity City Delegation (DGVS), strengthens its financing, with a grant which goes from 150,000.- to 200,000.- per year, including 50,000.- specifically for the program of Impact Days. The Department of Culture and Digital Transition is also committed to providing annual financial assistance of more than 200,000.-.
