This event will be held at Parc des Bastions from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and promises to numerous activities and demonstrations for little ones and adults.
A fun and educational day
During this day, the municipal police, in collaboration with the Clean City Roads as well as the Samaritanswill offer the public the opportunity to discover in a fun and interactive way the multiple facets of the job of municipal police officer.
“This event is a unique opportunity for the public to better understand the multiple aspects of our work and to build relationships with those who work daily for the security of our city. It is also a great opportunity to strengthen trust and proximity between agents and the population.” explains Christine Camp, Commander of the municipal police of the City of Geneva.
“The municipal police are an essential link in the local security system, they serve the citizens of the city,” recalls administrative councilor Marie Barbey-Chpuis, in charge of the Department of Security and Sports.
Program of activities
- Bike Police demonstrations: At 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., attend demonstrations of a bicycle APM unit.
- Intervention techniques: Demonstrations will take place at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m., providing an overview of officer skills and training.
- Sports activities for the whole family: Come and exercise with the sports instructors of the municipal police.
- Entertainment for children: Games, fun activities and much more to entertain young ones.
- Cycling route and TCS quiz: Test your road safety skills and knowledge.
- Trying on municipal police equipment: to put yourself in the shoes of an agent.
- Discovery of gestures that save with the Samaritans: Participate in workshops to learn and practice first aid like real agents.
- Competition with the Clean City Roads: Participate in a game while being aware of the incivilities linked to illegal clearances and littering.
A day of discussion and discovery for all
