    PlasMAH: a gateway through the museum | City of Geneva

    PlasMAH is a new cycle of artistic residencies with an architectural vocation that the Museum of Art and History inaugurates this year with the French artist Vincent Lamouroux.

    Cross the courtyard at a height of 8 meters

    The first intervention by the artist Vincent Lamouroux, entitled “La Passerelle”, overlooks the courtyard and connects the openings of two opposite facadesapproximately 28 meters apart. Designed for offer other points of view on the buildingit allows us to appreciate the effects of symmetry, volumes and transparency and adds a sort of shortcut. This new path, which crosses the museum courtyard more than 8 meters above the groundjoins the large stained glass window of the entrance hall to the window facing it in the opposite wing.

    Residency cycle

    This program will be rolled out over several years and will offer each summer to a designer, an architect or an artist of take over the space of the museum’s interior courtyard. The work that he or she will carry out there will give rise to the production of an object or a construction which will enhance the architectural qualities of the building. Marc Camolettibut also explore the possibility of other uses offered to museum visitors. PlasMAH therefore continues the exploration of what the Museum of tomorrow could be, from the perspective of expansion and restoration project in which the MAH is engaged.

    Practical information

    The footbridge will be open to the public 100 days a year. Opening dates will soon be indicated here and on the project page.
