After an opening speech delivered by Christina Kitsos, Mayor of the City of GenevaTHE State Councilor Thierry Apothélozin charge of the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity, will speak for the Canton.
A presentation of the long life policy and local actions in the City of Geneva, as well as a round table with the theme “Maintaining social ties”.
Personalities invited during a round table
The round table will bring together:
- Idris Guessouschief physician of the Primary Care Medicine Department at HUG and vice-dean of the Faculty of Medicine at UNIGE;
- Rebecca Durolletdoctor in social geography and co-manager of the “Aging without the presence of family” project;
- Pierre-Olivier Lefebvregeneral delegate of the Francophone Network of Age-Friendly Cities;
- Irina Ionitasecretary general of the Geneva Seniors Network Platform.
Workshops
Several workshops will take place in the afternoon, concerning the respective roles of the individual, the neighborhood, the municipality, associations and the network in the fight against the isolation of seniors. Thierry Apothéloz and Christina Kitsos will close the day.
Senior participation
This event is open to all interested people, free of charge but on registration. The presence of seniors is strongly encouraged.
