The City of Geneva launches the third edition of its media support grants | City of Geneva

The objective pursued by these grants is to highlight measures creating links between the media and their audiences, by promoting their inclusion in the city, access to quality information and democratic debate.

This support is capped at 15,000 francs per beneficiary and must enable the organization of debates, thematic meetings or any other relevant, innovative educational project focused on the information and participation role of the media.

Support the anchoring of the media in the City

In the current context, when the local press is experiencing great difficulties and the survival of certain media is threatened, this aid project will of course not be able to respond alone to the structural crisis facing the sector. However, through this support, the City of Geneva wishes to support the anchoring of our media in the City and promote access to critical, sourced and structured professional informationas well as participation in democratic debate.

Addressed to media of all sizes, these grants can also be an opportunity to support different approaches and innovative projects allowing us to think about the journalism of tomorrow. Support for projects to develop participatory digital media tools is also possible.

The selection of projects will be made by a jury of three independent experts and an official from the City of Geneva. The terms of participation are specified in the document to download below.
