Completed in the space of a year, the new Servette FC training ground was officially delivered yesterday morning to the Geneva club. This is a natural pitch reinforced with synthetic fibers allowing increased use of a surface area of 105×68 m, meeting ASF standards.
It was completed with a goal storage area and a goalkeeper training area. A 30m2 room located in the parking lot is also available for storing training equipment and ground maintenance.
Fruitful collaboration
These new facilities mark a fruitful collaboration between the Canton, the City of Geneva and Servette FCformalized in a memorandum of understanding signed in 2022. This provides for the provision of a training ground for the professional team for ten years in the Vessy sports venue, owned by the City of Geneva. As part of this agreement, two additional synthetic fields intended for some fifty resident teams were also developed and opened in June 2024. All the work was financed by the Canton (8 million).

For Marie Barbey-Chpuis, administrative advisor for the City of Geneva in charge of sports, the work carried out at Vessy benefits to all of Geneva football. “Professionals and amateur players, everyone will now have better training conditions at Vessy, which met a real need.”
