    Two events around the World Day of Social Justice are soon organized in Geneva by the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity (DCSS) or in partnership with it.

    On February 20, meet Pierre Rosanvallon, professor emeritus at the Collège de France, during an exceptional conference at Uni Dufour.

    The historian and sociologist Pierre Rosanvallon is the author of numerous works which occupy a major place in the fields of contemporary political theoryfrom the reflection on democracy and the social question. Pierre Rosanvallon focuses in particular on understanding the transformations of modern democracies and analyzing the challenges that they face, such as social justice and the citizen participation. Her interdisciplinary approach makes him a central figure in contemporary research on politics.

    He published in October 2024, with Editions du Seuil, a book entitled “Invisible institutions”in which he questions the notions of trust, authority and legitimacy. Although vague, these nonetheless constitute real institutions, necessary for the proper functioning of democracy.
