An innovative project of circular economy for scene arts in French -speaking Switzerland: Pamos | City of Geneva

This initiative carried by the comedy of Geneva, the Tiger ridge and the Source La Min is part of a broader dynamic of Transformation of live performance practiceswith the support of the city of Geneva.

An innovative partnership for a sustainable culture

The model of Collective resource management optimizes production costs, reduce waste and ofAnchor the performing arts in an eco -responsible dynamic. “Pamos was formed to meet the needs of independent companies and Geneva theaters, which produce new creations each year without having concrete solutions to design and make lasting scenographies,” explains Daphné Bengoa, member of the Tiger Committee.

“The waste of scenographic elements is a central problem to which this new initiative provides a concrete response,” specifies Philippe Nussbaum, director of the Geneva crank. Currently, 650 objects are available, in the long term there will be more than 800.

Thanks to Pamos, comedy and companies will now be able to:

• Pool their scenic accessories and furniture To reduce their costs, simplify their logistics, and limit their carbon footprint.
• Access a shared storage space within the Industrial Zone of Charmilles (ZIC).
• Rely on effective collective managementbenefiting from the expertise in the management of the crank and an inventory of referenced objects.

“With Pamos, Geneva cultural actors invent a new model for scenic creation: a model based on solidarity, sustainability and ingenuity,” sums up Bernard Laurent, secretary general of the Geneva comedy. “This is an inspiring and innovative initiative that could school in French -speaking Switzerland and elsewhere,” rejoices Alfonso Gomez, administrative advisor to the city of Geneva in charge of sustainability.

Project actors

Pamos is the fruit of a collaboration of three Geneva structures – which has received important support from the Agenda 21 service – sustainable city of the city of Geneva:

• The comedy of Genevaflagship institution of the Geneva theater, which provides an impressive collection of objects as well as the storage space dedicated to scenic accessories and furniture.
• The Tiger ridgewhich federates 115 independent companies and is mobilized to improve their working conditions and their logistical resources.
• The crankpioneer cooperative in circular economy, which brings its expertise in pooling and management of shared objects.
• The city of Geneva, Service Agenda 21 – Sustainable City.
