Sunday, December 31 finds the Bastions skating rink hosting an exceptional eventorganized by the Department of Social Cohesion and Solidarity: the contemporary ice skating show “Glide”, presented by Québécois skating marvels Free Skatingthe world’s first and only contemporary ice skating troupe.
This unique, free performance will start at 2 p.m. and will be followed by on-ice workshops involving the audience from 2.30 to 3.30 p.m.

“Glide” is much more than just an ice skating show. It fuses athletic virtuosity, artistic innovation and the poetic magic of gliding. The members of the company are train high-level figure skaters, who have progressed from “On Ice” show business stereotypes to create an authentic art of gliding. The result is skating that’s firmly rooted in the 21st century.
In this performancethe Patin Libre artists will be taking the audience on an unrivaled journey, exploring a genre of ice skating that’s right off the beaten track.
After the show, the Patin Libre artists will be leading shorts, fun workshops – open to everyone from beginners to experts – and offering a unique opportunity to learn the art of dancing on ice skates.
