The Municipal Council has allocated, as part of the 2023 budget of the City of Geneva, the Department of Culture and Digital Transition with an envelope of CHF 50,000.- aimed at support associations that fight against digital inequalities and for responsible digital technology. It is in this context that thecall for projects was born.
Growing engagement
This call for projects, proposed on a pilot basis in 2023, confirms the need for strong action on digital inclusion and could be developed in 2024 thanks to the vote by the Municipal Council of an envelope of 150,000CHF dedicated to the fight against electronicism.
This approach is part of the Digital Inclusion Network, initiated in 2021 by the City of Geneva. This brings together all of the partners in the field who struggle with difficulties in accessing digital technology, due to ignorance of the tools or how they work.
