Clarté Building: a story in photographs | City of Geneva

The Clarté building is the only building attesting to the relations established between Le Corbusier and Geneva. If he is inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List and cited as major example of modern movement architectureit remains little known to Genevans today.

With its innovative character, Clarté has won over photographers. Their images, now preserved at the Geneva Library, make it possible to trace visual history of the building, from its design in the 1930s to its renovations in the 1970s and then in 2010, as well as the changes in the Villereuse district.

A rich program of visits accompanies the exhibition

Of the guided tours of the exhibition at the Library, on-site visits to Clartéas well as a visit to the archives visuals of Iconography Centercomplete the program.
