The grieving process requires rituals. In its constant concern to support grieving loved ones, the Funeral Services, Cemeteries and Crematorium (SPF) now offers them the possibility of calling on a horse-drawn convoy.
The carriage, dating from the mid-19th century and offered to the City of Geneva by the town of Jussyhas been completely renovated for this purpose. If they request it and against payment, families who have lost a loved one can choose a horse-drawn convoy for their ceremony.
Promote contemplation and appeasement
The slowness of the convoy and the presence of the horses favor the contemplation and appeasement. The equines are driven by their owner, a specialist in the equine field and founder of the company Attelages du Léman Sàrl.
The hitch can carry a coffinl or one urn. Porters are made available by the SPF. This new service, paidis currently issued only to Saint-Georges cemetery.
