    Program for the International Day of Older Persons 2024

    Participation is free for all activities, but some require registration.

    The opportunity to take a bike ride and to music, to dance during the Grand Ball of the Council of Elders at the Plainpalais community hallto share a lottery or a meal, to discover Niels Ackermann’s photos on cohabitation between seniors and students, or to enjoy the legends of the Grottes district, through testimonies and anecdotes.     Flags on the Mont-Blanc bridge

    The event poster is signed Zepwith an illustration featuring two elderly people in a treetop cabin, under the astonished gaze of the younger people remaining on dry land. The poster will also be displayed on the flags placed on the Mont-Blanc bridge, between September 27 and October 1.

    Every year, on October 1, the City of Geneva celebrates the International Day of Older Persons with a program of varied activities for all generations. These events, spread throughout the city, are accessible to everyone.

    Since 2021, a Call for projects allows associations and collectives to offer activities for this day, with the financial and logistical support from the Social Service.
