In the current geopolitical context, it is more important than ever to talk about peace and to offer a platform to those who build it, day after day. There is no better place to do this than Geneva, city of peace, major multilateral center and preferred site for diplomatic summits, negotiations and discreet mediation efforts.
On the program for the 4th edition
This is the aim of the 4th edition of the Kofi Annan Geneva Address on Peace, in the presence of Mary RobinsonIreland’s first female president and former United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights.
The latter will share with the public a message on the need urgent to reduce international tensions and of enforce by everyone standards adopted by the international community in matters of armed conflict.
The Kofi Annan Geneva Address on Peace will be introduced by:
- Ms Marie Barbey-Chpuis, member of the Executive Council of the City of Geneva,
- Achim Wennmann, director of strategic partnerships, professor of practice in the interdisciplinary program and holder of the Nagulendran chair of peace mediation at the Geneva University Institute of Advanced Studies (IUHEG).
The event will also include a musical performance offered by the Orchestra of the International School.
