The oratorio Everyone, Everywherea work by the American composer Daron Hagenwhich pays homage to the Universal Declaration of Human Rightswill be sung for the first time in Europe.
The booklet combines articles from the Declaration and quotes from iconic human rights figures such as the Mahatma Gandhi, Nelson Mandela, Aristotle, Eleanor Rooseveltand others. Two works by British composer John Rutter – the Te Deum and the Gloria – are also on the program.
150 singers and 200 musicians
Three choirs, nearly 150 choristers, as well as 200 professional and amateur musicians will come together for the occasion at the Victoria Hall. A chef and a conductor will share the evening: the Genevoise Natacha Casagrande and the New Yorker Mark Shapiro.
The instrumental part will be provided by theGeneva Chamber OrchestraTHE Large brass and percussion ensemble from the Geneva High School of Music and the organist Thilo Muster.
