Encourage creation
Created in 2016the Geneva photographic survey is a annual mandate with 25,000 francsentrusted by the City of Geneva to a professional photographer with a strong link with the city. This initiative encourages creation and contributes to building heritage Geneva photography. The result of the investigation is kept at the Iconography Center from the Library of Geneva which has been carrying out the project since 2022.
Every three years, the theme of the survey changes. From 2022 to 2024, photographers explore the theme Resistorsby addressing societal, cultural and leisure issues. Geneva remains the site for carrying out each investigation through the prism of the evolution of its territory. After Rebecca Bowring in 2023, Emmanuelle Bayart – to whom the 2024 survey was entrusted – is currently working on finalizing her mandate. The result of his work will be revealed in early 2025.
