The season of Sunday Concerts at the Victoria Hall opens with two concerts for the price of one. Fabrizio Chiovetta performs two cycles of Romantic “Lieder” by Franz Schubert, for voice and piano, on Sunday 17 September. “Die schöne Müllerin” at 11 am and “Winterreise” at 5 pm
In October, the together Cantatio under the direction of John Duxbury, will bring together talented young professionals to perform a selection of choral music, focusing on less well-known pieces from the directories of Purcell and Handel.
This will be followed in November by “Nomadic Suns” performed by Geneva Camerata which, to celebrate its 10th anniversary, will invite the singer Paloma Pradal to take a journey through nomadic music (baroque, classical, flamenco, gypsy music, etc.). December will see a concert for families combining classical music and hip-hop, performed by the Geneva Chamber Orchestra and Kafig Company.
The New Year will begin with the “Vespers for the Blessed Virgin” by Monteverdiperformed by the I Gemelli together. There will be argentina tango in February with the Cuarteto Tango Indigo, song by Maria de la Paz.
In March, the two flagship ensembles of Geneva – the Orchestra of French-speaking Switzerland and Gli Angeli Geneva – will perform a selection of works by Machault, Gesualdo and Stravinsky. The season will be brought to a close in April with the organ of Diego Innocenzi and the Choir of the Colleges of Geneva.
