The winner of the competition
Chosen unanimously, this is the project THE MARKETS OF THEIA, from the Geneva office Dellacherie Neyroud Architects, which was selected following the competition organized by the City of Geneva.
A new swimming area in the heart of the city
THE MARKETS OF THÉIA was able to convince the jury by proposing a new platform, widened on either side of the existing wall, offering more immersive lake experience.
The installation of large stone bleacherswhich extend into the water through lake basins of different sizes, will invite everyone to take a break, contemplate or simply take a dip. This space will offer the population a place that will expand the possibilities for relaxation, leisure and discovery.
Given the exceptional heritage character of the site, particular attention was paid to the landscape requalification of the quay. Set back, the promenade will welcome the planting large trees creating a garden beach which will complete the existing alignment and establish visual tree continuity with the Mon Repos park and the Bains des Pâquis. The walker will thus be able to reconnect with the quays equipped and elegantly arranged at the entrance to the Harbor of Geneva.
Exhibition of projects at the Forum Faubourg
All of the projects as well as the winning project will be exhibited at the Forum Faubourg from November 15 to 25, 2023.
