La Banquise returns with its panoramic saunas and its now famous “axe throwing” | City of Geneva

“Waiting for the future public baths expected this summer in the same place, the Ice floe offers quality entertainment that brings the harbor to life even in winter. I am happy that this project, launched in 2023 as part of my year as Town Hall, can be renewed in 2024,” explains the administrative advisor of the City of Geneva, Marie Barbey-Chpuis, in charge of the Department of Security and Sports. .

“To meet demand, we have increased the number of saunas available,” continues the magistrate.

The ice floe is a winter fun and sports area project proposed on the Eaux-Vives merchant quay, near the Jet d’eau pier. Like the activities at the Canopée, installed during the summer period, the Banquise allows residents to come together around sporting and well-being activities during the winter period.
